A famous person once said...

"I dropped my silly putty today...it fell "out of hand." Is that on topic for this thread?"
- Mimillo

"I agree whole-heartedly and I sincerely apologize for having started this whole alter-ego thing. The joke has officially gone too far. Fred, please delete my alter-ego from the box - I promise I will never post as Mrs. Pfunk again. It's just ceased to be funny."
- Eve 6

"[Note: The author is not saying Fred is fat... he's just dense. Dutch people are always quite dense. They can't float in pools either.]"
- Jettero

"I think I'd rather have my genitals removed as a result of frostbite then "stand around" inside a walmart. Have you seen the people who shop at walmart?"

I Didn't Even Want a Pony 03:03:03 AM

I'm starting this with absolutely no idea what I'm going to update about, but I feel so guilty about not changing the page... So I'm sorry if this update is sort of like when your parents get divorced and they give you random presents because they feel bad. It's probably not like that at all, though.

Since the last update, I have failed to review a few movies that Nemo & I watched. I also have pictures from the last two trips I took with Boyfriend that I seriouly took with the sole purpose of putting them in an entry, so we'll see if I can remember how to post pictures to this page. Or I'll call Tug and ask him how I did it before and he'll say something really obvious that I should have been able to think of on my own, and then I'll feel even worse. Because I'm already totally crabby right now anyway. So we'll move on before I start hurting my feelings.

It seems the last movie I bothered to mention was The Incredibles. After whining and moaning that I didn't want to see it because I don't like animated movies, I felt pretty bad that I actually liked it. So I felt obligated to take Nemo to a movie after that. But I don't remember what it was. It may have been Napolean Dynamite and it may have been Closer. It could not have been Blade: Trinity. Even if I had seen Blade: Trinity, I could not admit it to you. And I certainly could not admit it to myself. Just seeing the trailers makes my brain cells feel dirty.

Anyway- Napolean Dyanmite. No one is hot in the movie. Nemo and I did laugh several times during this movie, but a half an hour later, we were on the phone discussing how we didn't like it. It just had no point or resolution, so I think it's one of those movies I can only really like if it's on TNT and I'm going to watch less than a half hour of it.

So then we saw Closer, which we totally loved. We really only went because it was the only movie we hadn't seen besides SpongeBob and some other garbage. I not only had no idea what it was about, I didn't know what the title was- you know, was it "Closer" like "nearer," or like "someone who closes things"?

Boyfriend called me while I was on my way there and we had the following exchange:

BF: Where are you?

GW: On the way to the movies with Nemo.

BF: What are you guys seeing?

GW: That movie Closer, or Closer- I don't know how you say it. With Julia Roberts and Jude Law.

BF: Oh, the movie where Natalie Portman is a stripper?

GW: I guess, do you know what it's about?

BF: No, that's all I know.

So I turned to Nemo and asked him if he knew what the movie was about.

N: Natalie Portman is a stripper.

GW: Is that all you know?

N: Yes, and that's all I need to know.

I was a little nervous going in then, because all I knew was that Natalie Portman would be stripping and that Jude Law and Julia Roberts were also somehow involved. I'm unsure much of the time whether or not I think Jude Law is hot, so I wasn't sure there would be much going on that I was interested in.

But as I said, we loved it. And no one else I know has seen it, and it drives me crazy. Oh, and I don't think Jude Law is hot. For sure this time.

I did also see Ocean's Twelve, and believe that Brad Pitt was more hot in this film than in Troy. I don't remember what I said about his hottness level in my Troy review, but his hair was short in this film, so he was automatically more hot.

I am an awesome movie reviewer.

We're going to see The Life Aquatic in a few days, so I will try and review that sometime before February. But I don't know what I'm going to say about it, because I really don't think Owen Wilson is hot. I do think Bill Murray is hysterical, so that's probably all I will say.

And those are the movies I remember. So I will now try to share one or two vacation photos.

Boyfriend and I did go to Jamaica the weekend before Thanksgiving. It was mostly really nice except for the times when it was like this:

it looked like it might rain for a few hours

and then it did rain for a few hours

So we decided to try and entertain ourselves in the game room of the resort. We found a game that would keep us busy until the storm passed:

we are the most rockin' couple you know

The game is pretty outdated- there's hardly any women on the board, and only one non-white option. So once you have to answer positively to the fact that your card is female, you don't have much of a chance.

he was Susan this time

But the storm went away and then things got pretty and there was dry weather for the hermit crab racing.

an improvement

we lost money on the red crab. and the green crab. and the white crab.

After that, we went to Boston, and the only pictures I took were of hundreds of men running down the street in Speedos and Santa hats. And you probably don't want to see those, so I'll keep them for myself.

Wow, this got long... I'll stop now with no obvious conclusion as to where I was going with all that... sort of like Napolean Dynamite, but shorter and less funny.

Hope you all had wonderful holidays and that you have good plans for the New Year. And post something, the board is dead... I want to know what you all got for Christmas, what you're doing for New Year's, and at least one other interesting thing. I expect full participation.
